To be eligible to receive food from the Agape Food Pantry, you must be a resident of western Auglaize County which covers Minster, New Bremen, New Knoxville and St. Marys.
Picture identification and proof of residency are required each time you visit the food pantry.
A proof of residency must be a legitimate piece of mail with your name, address and a visible date not exceeding 30 days prior to the visit for all residents of the household who are 18 years of age or older. (Examples: utility bill, cable bill, telephone bill, etc.)
Our pantry provides food and non-food options to clients in need. We are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon - 4:30 p.m.
This program provides specified clothing items to our clients who have experienced an emergency. We also coordinate this program with emergency agencies and the Disaster Relief Program.
This program provides coordinated and united assistance to families in crisis situations, where a small amount of financial assistance can help alleviate an immediate need. Help is provided on a discretionary basis for utility bills (help can only be given every 13 months to a household). Appropriate documentation is required.
This program provides food to seniors who are homebound each month. A food box is delivered to homebound seniors on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Agape coordinates efforts with various emergency agencies that include, but are not limited to, local fire and police departments, the Red Cross, Auglaize County Recovery Function and others. Agape assists where needed.
Agape is proud to be able to provide additional food for students in grades 1-8 during the school year. We work with the school’s administration to determine who may need these bags and provide them to schools on a weekly basis throughout the school year. These bags include two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, four snacks and one shelf-stable beverage.
This program provides a brand-new pair of pajamas, a new blanket, a new pair of slipper socks, assorted personal hygiene items, and, where age-appropriate, a small toy each year from Thanksgiving until Christmas. This reaches children from birth to age 12 who may not otherwise receive Christmas gifts.
Agape coordinates efforts with local churches to collect coats, gloves, scarves, mittens and socks, then offers them free to residents in need in St. Marys, Minster, New Bremen and New Knoxville.
Agape offers School Supplies to our clients with school-age children in grades K-12 at the beginning of each school year through the food pantry. A child can be sponsored with just a $15 donation. The supplies given will be based on their age and the school supply list provided by the schools in our communities.
