Empowering students and adults to develop essential life skills that foster independence and boost confidence.

About StopGAP

StopGAP is an inspiring program designed to equip students and adults with essential life experience support skills. Our mission is to foster independence by helping students and adults build the confidence and capabilities they need, ultimately reducing reliance on non-profit and government assistance. As a volunteer, you can join us in transforming lives and creating self-sufficient communities through our StopGAP programs, Survivor Club and Elevate Workshops.

The Survivor Club is the ultimate after-school adventure for St. Marys High School juniors and seniors! This club is all about exploring essential life skills that will help students thrive both now and in the future.

At each club meeting, volunteers will teach different life skills, giving everyone a chance to participate and learn.

Activities may include:

  • Move Your Body (yoga, Pilates, walking)
  • Protect Your Mind (emotional wellness, social/internet safety, relationships)
  • Embrace Fun (hobbies, creative crafting, games, gardening)
  • Look Your Best (laundry, personal care, clothes care & repair)
  • Financial Management (budgeting, saving, banking, mobile apps)
